I just learned of a critical situation that will be going on in Washington DC on March 17th. So critical that I have heard the call to be present in DC on that day. The call of  a group called Gathering of Eagles has brought to attention that there are anti-war protesters that wish to use the Vietnam Veterans Memorial also known as The Wall as prop in their political protest march to the Pentagon.

 I can not….. NO! I will not sit in Florida and wonder if there are enough volunteers that will show up to help protect The Wall. I will be standing with the eagles to send a message, a message that will be heard around the world.

Most important, a message that will be shown to our troops that are currently on tour and fighting with their lives on the line every day. The troops need to see that America cares about them then and now. They need to know they they are not forgotten, just as those who have already given the ultimate sacrifice are not forgotten. While the anti-war protesters from answer, code pink and other so called peace movement organizations claim they march for peace, we have seen the destruction and defacing that they have committed during past protests.

These anti-war protesters have the right to protest, but they are so very wrong if they think they will be able to approach The Wall as part of their demonstration. Leave The Wall out of it!

Gathering of Eagles, an impromptu coalition of veterans’ groups, pro-military organizations and Internet activists, wants to right the wrong. “We are a non-violent, non-confrontational group. We look to defend, not attack. Our focus is guarding our memorials and their grounds,” they explain. “We believe in and would give our lives for the precious freedoms found in our Constitution. We believe that our freedom of speech is one of the greatest things our country espouses, and we absolutely hold that any American citizen has the right to express his or her approval or disapproval with any policy, law or action of our nation and her government in a peaceful manner as afforded by the laws of our land.”

What the Eagles will not stand for, however, are “violence, vandalism, physical or verbal assaults on our veterans, and the destruction or desecration of our memorials. By defending and honoring these sacred places, we defend and honor those whose blood gave all of us the right to speak as freely as our minds think.”

Never Forget what they did for us.

 Don’t forget those who are fighting now.

The message needs to be clear that the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC is sacred ground and there is no tolerance for political debate or abuse toward it and the honorable Americans that it represents. This can only be accomplished in numbers, strong numbers of Veterans, Friends, Family and Volunteers standing shoulder to shoulder in protection of our memorial.

What will I do? I am going to be there to help and document a very important day in American history. What can you do? Join us on March 17th in Washington DC to show we care. We care about and support the men and women that have fought in the past and we care and support those who are fighting now. If you can not make it for any reason, you can help me to make the trip. This month is a very expensive month for me as it is and finances would dictate that I not go, but I will not allow that to stop me. Earlier this week a poorly drafted proposal was turned down that would require bloggers that write about political issues to register as a lobbyist if their blog received more than 500 views a day. Section 220, would have required certain people engaged in “grassroots lobbying” to register with the government or face civil and criminal penalties, including up to 10 years in prison.

The S.1 Bill titled A bill to provide greater transparency in the legislative process was approved 96-2 with the amendment that removed section 220 from the bill. Senator Rob Bennett (Utah), the amendment’s sponsor, remarked “Let’s reaffirm that the zenith of the Bill of Rights is free speech, the right to petition your government for redress of your grievances, and the right to peacefully assemble, all of which are involved in grassroots lobbying and none of which should be criminalized,” the senator said in a floor speech introducing his proposal earlier this week.

The bill as it stood was noted as “massive” and section 220 seemed to be cleverly disguised within the large amount of words. However, Mark Fitzgibbons who runs the site http://www.grassrootsfreedom.com/ opposing the legislation that included section 220 of bill S. 1 along with a broad range of groups including the ACLU, the Free Speech Coalition, the Traditional Values Coalition and National Right To Life said it would hurt their own groups’ abilities to influence Congress and place unreasonable restrictions on Internet politicking.

Section 220 of bill S.1 was stripped from the bill and rightfully so. It was not properly drafted and the language of the proposal was unclear and confusing. Our First Amendment rights being threatened in this form is real and needs to be monitored for protection.

Another proposal that is being circulated in an attempt to create a bill would effect the Constitution of the United States in a big way. There are those who would like to amend the constitution to allow foreign-born person to run for president! This should raise concern with all of us.

Article ll Section 1 clause 5 of the United States Constitution bars foreign usurpers form becoming President. The Founders of our country forged Clause 5 of the first Section of Article II of the Constitution to protect America from a foreign-born President holding dual or treacherous alliances with other countries.

By now you are asking, who would want to change the Constitution so that a foreign-born person could be president? Why would they want any person that was not born in the United States to hold the highest position of our government, the President of the United States? But wait there’s more! Who is the person that these people would like to see President? His father was a SS nazi officer. He has publicly stated that he has dreamed of being a dictator and that he admires Hitler. This man is currently in office as Governor!

WHO? Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah; Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Huntington Beach; and Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., proposed the amendment to the Constitution to allow immigrants to become president after being citizens for 20 years.

WHY? To amend the Constitution of the United States to allow foreign-born persons to become President. The people above would like to see the current Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jennifer Granholm, Governor of Michigan run for president. Both are foreign-born, both already hold an office.

This is not new news, Alex Jones has been talking about this and created a web site called Arnold Exposed, this site not only tells about the proposed amendment, it also shows many things about Schwarzenegger you would have never dreamed of. Alex Jones is a hard hitting investigative journalist that has made people stop and think watching his fact finding documentaries. Alex is probably best know for his 911 conspiracy theory and documentary, but he doesn’t stop there.

In fact, the Saddam hanging video replaced keywords and search terms that normally hold the top 10 position. The execution of Saddam Hussein video holds 8 of 10 in results giving way to only sex at number 1 and porn listed at number 3. Sexy celebrity gossip and paparazzi hits Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are usually steady in the top 10, but slid down to take the 11th and 12th position in the key word report.

Along with Paris and Britney in the top, Google is normally listed as well. While many search engines visit this site, the pages have yet to receive any type of page rank….. hint, hint

Conflicts in the many articles that have been coming out in the past hours:

Where the execution was held. There were reports of two places where the execution was to be held and now as the stories are released it appears that he was hanged at both places.

Three men were executed. There have been reports that all three men scheduled to be executed were hanged at dawn, one was Saddam’s half-brother Barzan Ibrahim, while other reports say that the only one executed was Saddam Hussein.

The news of the death of Hussein did spring up a series of events in Iraq and around the world, however the good news is that none of the events reported have been violent. For me, it is still a wait and see at this time. I am not convinced at the series of articles that have been released as to the completeness of the reports , but the official witnesses seem to agree on one fact and that is that Saddam Hussein remained calm and refused to have his face covered before the hanging.

In a article written by Wall Street Journal editorial assistant, Joseph Rago, he appears to either be uneducated to the blogging web or feels threatened by the same. The article he titles “The Blog Mob“, Rago lashes out at the blogosphere saying

“The blogs are not as significant as their self-endeared curators would like to think. Journalism requires journalists, who are at least fitfully confronting the digital age. The bloggers, for their part, produce minimal reportage. Instead, they ride along with the MSM like remora fish on the bellies of sharks, picking at the scraps.”

This is just one man’s opinion, the opinion of Joseph Rago, and maybe his opinion is not as significant as he would like to think. At least not if one is to judge by the popularity of the blog for the reader as well as the writer. The blog writer of today is not making a post just to read it online! If this is true, then the post would be kept private and password protected. As one writer has put it:

“The blogosphere is a celebration of citizen journalism and the freedom
of speech.”

While further down the article, writer Rago, seems to point more to political blogs that seem to be a thorn in his side, calling most blogs “pretty awful” and without naming names, refers to the more popular blogs as “downright appalling”. Certainly, Mr. Rago would not be wise to reference popular blogs such as the WSJ Law Blog or could not have read the WSJ special report Find A Blog.

Near the close of the article, the true heart of Mr. Rago’s message; he is not to fond of the computer, nor Internet:

“Certainly the MSM, such as it is, collapsed itself. It was once utterly dominant yet made itself vulnerable by playing on its reputed accuracy and disinterest to pursue adversarial agendas. Still, as far from perfect as that system was, it was and is not wholly imperfect. The technology of ink on paper is highly advanced, and has over centuries accumulated a major institutional culture that screens editorially for originality, expertise and seriousness.”

While the rant of one mainstream writer is now buried days into the archives of the Opinion Journal, Time Magazine cover page was released naming the person of the year for 2006, You. Yes, You that control the information age. Quite the reverse of the previous, Time Magazine sees things such as the blog, You Tube and My Space as a major contribution not only to changing the world, also to change the way the world changes.

Time looks at the way we, as citizens of the Internet report on things saying:

“And we didn’t just watch, we also worked. Like crazy. We made Facebook profiles and Second Life avatars and reviewed books at Amazon and recorded podcasts. We blogged about our candidates losing and wrote songs about getting dumped. We camcordered bombing runs and built open-source software.”

So, congratulations to you and all of the people that work hard on their place on the web! You chose to entertain and inform us, reporting to your readers on information that you find important. You have delivered us a honest and unbiased account of the world as it happens blogging from home on your computer, at the airport on your lap top and even directly from your cell phone. Time magazine has pointed out a very important factor in what shapes the world wide web, You.

So while many of the people that contribute to the Mainstream Media feel threatened by You, there are others that reconize that it is You that makes the choice in what you read and watch. It is what you find important that matters. The people that want to rail you for putting what you believe in or what you report on will only make you stronger.

Time Managing Editor, Richard Stengel, wraps it up by saying:

“Some have called it an “amateur hour.” And it often is. But America was founded by amateurs. The framers were professional lawyers and military men and bankers, but they were amateur politicians, and that’s the way they thought it should be. Thomas Paine was in effect the first blogger, and Ben Franklin was essentially loading his persona into the MySpace of the 18th century, Poor Richard’s Almanack.”

The recent death of Yvonne Scarlett-Golden, the Mayor of Daytona Beach forced a rather rapid decision on the city commission. Who would be appointed to fill the rest of the term? The decision took longer than expected and was postponed from being decided on last Monday to a new date set for Thursday.

While some spoke of certain Mayor hopefuls to fill the term, others did not want any of the prospective candidates to have an upper hand by serving the short period. I cringed at the mention of certain parties that were on the list, but rejoiced when I heard the idea was rejected. By Tuesday, popular opinion had Daytona Beach businessman Glenn Ritchey as the projected appointee and by the end of Thursday’s City meeting, he was in.

Glenn Ritchey had announced that he had no intentions of running for Mayor, but would consider taking the appointment for the remainder of the term after Mayor Golden’s death. Ritchey being appointed does not sever ties between the ISC (International Speedway Corporation) and City Hall in Daytona Beach. Read more at The Real Daytona.

In other news, Elizabeth Book, has won yet another battle in court for baring her breast in public. You will remember that Book was first arrested back in 2004 during Bike Week for baring her breast on the main street bridge in Daytona Beach. She later escaped arrest by protesting behind a curtain on the bed of a truck, but then exposed her breast again in front of the Peabody Auditorium. She was arrested for this time for disorderly conduct, which she was acquitted for on Thursday.

However, it looks as though a city deputy attorney, Mary Hartman, refuses to let the issue go and has already started a petition to bring the case back to local court for reconsideration of appeal. It seems there are better things that could be done with the tax dollar income for Daytona Beach.

Quite simply folks, if you did not vote, it is not your place to speak out on issues that need change. The reason that our government is so unbalanced and issues are thrown aside, is because of the apathy in our country. The shaping of the government and how this country can be run starts with you and I. I urge all of you to get out and vote today.

Voting is important, but more important is to vote with knowledge. Know your candidates and the issues that are going to be on the ballot. Do a little “digging” into what each of the candidate’s platform is. Check into their past and research their votes on issues that are important to you and your family.

This mid-term election puts Floridians in a great position to see change with the opportunity to vote for a new Governor. Jeb Bush has reached his term limit and there are two new candidates up for the seat. If you have not looked at the two candidates that are running for Governor of Florida, its not too late.

A big issue in the gubernatorial race for Florida is the rumor of Charley Crist being a homosexual. The better part of the homosexual community appears to believe that he is and several people have come forward with last minute statements confirming that he is. The fact that he has denied it does not mean that he is not. If Crist is a homosexual and it comes out after he has been elected, it will only mean another government sex scandal. Crist’s opponent, Independent Max Linn claimed on a Florida radio show that it was “common knowledge in Tallahassee that Crist is gay.” Its sad that this type of statement is taken so lightly. This is a government official currently in office and running for the highest position in the state.

I am not willing to accept a homosexual in any government capacity at all. This is why I urge all to get out and vote. If you want to vote for a homosexual for Governor, that is your right. Rather, if you chose not to vote, you may not have that right in the future.

 I am amazed at the flat out plagiarism that has been going on with the sites that are run by paid developers. At a point in time I was flattered at the idea that these so called designers followed me around like a puppy starving for attention, but it has just got out of hand. You all know what I mean. It is like when some guy decides he wants to show off by picking on you because you are the badest looking guy in a crowd. You try real hard to hold your temper and not pop the guy in the face, but he just keeps pushing your buttons any way he can. That is what is going on with these wanna bes. They are pretending to be your friend and mix in with the crowd, the whole time they have their eye on your wallet.

 I tried to communicate and develop a relationship with these people. They refused, stating we primarily promote the Daytona Beach area to families and corporate markets.  The Daytona Area Convention and Visitors Bureau tells me this because I had pictures that did promote family and corporate values. Later as my Biketober site became more popular, and in an act of jealousy, Janet Kersey from the DBCVB writes to me Certified and states that I must not use the word biketoberfest. Biketoberfest is a registered trademark of Daytona Beach and I must remove the word fest from all of my text and graphics.
