Two attorneys appear for Billy Lane – DUI Manslaughter Case continued

(Melbourne, Florida) Billy Lane criminal case calendar call, February 2, 2007.

I had reported on January 19th that Billy Lane had changed attorneys to represent him in the DUI Manslaughter case that was set for calendar call today. The report, it seems, was incorrect. It was learned earlier today that Lane has added an attorney to the case. Two attorneys stood before Judge Allawas at the Viera courthouse in Brevard County, Florida to request the case be set for calendar call
on March 23, 2007.

Attorney Keith Szachacz, Esq.Keith F. Szachacz, Esq. appeared for the law office of Funk, Szachacz & Diamond, LLC.

Attorney Robert Ralph Berry Robert Ralph Berry was present representing the law offices of Eisenmenger, Berry & Peters, P.A. Berry, stood behind Szachacz and agreed to the new date of March 23. Judge Allawas asked if Defendant, Lane was present and both attorneys stated that Billy Lane was not present today. The Judge asked if Lane was being represented by both offices. Judge Allawas remarked “that scares me” when it was confirmed that Billy Lane was being represented by both.

Billy Lane also has a related civil case pending were he and ChryslerDaimler are being sued for auto negligence and the wrongful death of Gerald Morelock. This case has been scheduled for February 7th 2007 at the Titusville Courthouse.

hey mike this is very disturbing is billy trying to change lawyers to keep dragging this thing out longer then it should be. And if that were me i would want to be there to make sure i heard everything that was said what an ass. Too me that just shows how much of A COWARD LANE REALLY IS

    2. Mike Odom Says:

      Hi cblois4613,
Actually, Lane has added an attorney from another office to the case, not changing lawyers. For some reason, when the clerk added the new attorney, it deleted the other.
Kind of reminds us of another high profile celebrity case huh?
      Time will tell.

Cblois – good to see you again. It’s amazing how the buttholes can slow and deter the system….it’s almost disheartening……….I should have been an attorney…………………

      Hi rld
Please watch the terms, I have sponsors….they have rules.
      Thanks,
      Mike

    5. sandie Says:

Why would the Judge make a statement in open court, being recorded that he was “SCARED” when he found out Lane had two lawyers? Did Juge Ito make a comment like that when he faced OJ’s Dream Team?? I do not think that was appropriate for the Judge to make such a comment.

    6. sandie Says:

At least we know Billy still has a good cash flow. I doubt Lane has sponsors paying for his trips. I can not imagine anyone paying to have their nme sponsored on any of Lane’s activities. If Lane is making money on these trips. It is most likely going to lawyers and if there is any left he is probably hiding the $ in a Swiss Account so the Morelock’s can’t get it. Lane is a crooked person. We can see by his actions that he does not care what other people think and most definitely has no regard for the law. Hey, Mike: Why do you think the Judge made that remark in open court? What the heck is going on?????

    7. sandie Says:

Glad to see that you busted a potty mouth. I understand why we have to be careful what we say………….. think we had this talk.

    8. Mike Odom Says:

I don’t think the Judge knows who William D. Lane is and it was made in more of a humorous way.

On the censorship: I, we would use this word in speaking together and I hate censorship. I think the that there are words used on the radio that should never be allowed were as they can’t say others that I deem as not so bad. Crazy I know, but I have to pay the bills.

    9. sandie Says:

Howard Stern would agree with your comment and that is why he is now on Sirrus Radio. I agree with you as well.

    10. sandie Says:

Why do you suppose that there are two law firms involved with the criminal case? It’s got to be rather expensive paying just one lawyer? Who would the lead counsel be? At least now Lane can not ask for the trial to be delayed because of changing legal counsel. Changing counsel is a good way for a delay because the new counsel says they want to start from scratch. What kind of law do each of these lawyers specialize in????

    11. Mike Odom Says:

      Hello Readers,
FYI, Norman Fernandez Esq. California attorney and biker has just posted an article that is very informative on a person having two attorneys and the justice system. Click here to read the post and be sure to visit Norman’s Biker Law Blog.

      Thanks,
      Mike

    12. sandie Says:

Read Norm’s article and it is EXCELLENT as everything he writes is good reading and most informative. Funny thing, I don’t think the DREAM TEAM OJ had can get Lane out of this mess that he drove himself into drunk, speeding, passing three cars on a double yellow line, killing a biker who was riding where he was suppossed to be and last of all driving with suspended license. Look forward to your reports from both trials. I hate the Florida Today reporting.

    13. sandie Says:

I will stick by my comment that the DREAM TEAM can not get Lane out of the criminal charges. California had bad city cops, lost evidence, evidence that did not follow the chain of command. a bigot cop that made numerous unkind remarks about black people, two of the State’s Attorneys playing bedmates. It was a mess. FHP was careful and took their time and put their eggs in order. FHP also has witnesses which OJ did not have. OJ’s lawyers were slick.

    14. sandie Says:

Censorship: Mike looks like your feelings have changed on that with what Hammer gets by with. I am wondering if he uses a computer at Choppers Inc. or prison. I understand they have computers in the library at the federal pens now along with colored cable television.

    15. Mike Odom Says:

My feelings nor sponsor terms have changed. Hammer has not even posted in this thread. The threads that he has posted in he has not used the exact terms or words and one he quoted a response of someone else that I had allowed earlier.

    16. sandie Says:

      Okay.

    17. Interested Bystander Says:

Now Sandie is over on The Beachcruiser posting under Fatboy and sucking up to them.

    18. sandie Says:

Interested Bystander: First off you are probably posting under someone else’s name. I post under my first name and nothing else. I did go over to Beachcruiser after I read your remarks and read that blog’s comments. Seems like it is a well ran site and there is not intimidation. I liked the site and their philosophy. I must say I cracked up laughing, seems like they had the nerve to put Iowalowrider in line and got onto him about his nasty and intimidating comments. Seems like other people do not care what he writes. If and when I do decide to post over there it will be under Sandie. I guess Mike has changed his feelings and does not care if people have respect for each other and can name call and say anything they chose. That is Mr. MNO’s right. It is his blog, he has put much work into his blog and spent a lot of his own money investigating his facts. Iowalowrider thinks everyone has to agree with him.It is just not that way in life. Norm Fernandez Esquire summed it up for me……..” I DO NOT HAVE TIME IN MY PERSONAL LIFE FOR JERKS”!!! I will let it stand like that and we all know who thinks everyone should agree with them. This is the USA and we have our First Amendment rights……….just not on this blog.

    19. Mike Odom Says:

      Sandie,
If you have read my post and comments back before the start of Bike Week, you would have known that I would not be around to take part in this or any of my other sites activities or updates. Thus the reason for certain so called “allowed” comments. Without having to explain to you and others how this software works entirely, I will explain how the comment systems works and the different ways it can be set up.

The comment system for Word Press, which is the chosen software for this blog has certain owner options as to comments.

1, you can cut out comments entirely. Meaning no comments can be made on any post. You also have the option to allow or dis-allow comments on a per post basis. Meaning you can close comments on certain posts, while allowing comments on others. This option can be used at anytime.

2, you can allow comments on all posts. However, the first comment by a reader using a new email address must be approved by the owner. All comments by that person will be allowed and appear instantly from that time on. Meaning, after a person makes a sensible comment and the owner of the blog approves it, all future posts by the person will be automatically approved and appear. This is on a trust basis, that once you have made a sensible comment, future comments will be of the same nature. It also gives the blog owner a chance to verify the email used by the visitor.

3, ALL comments are put into a que for approval. This leaves the owner of the blog the option of posting what he wants the public to see only. If he or she does not like the comment, it never appears. Meaning the comment section is totally censored and only what the blog owner wants the public to see is published. Some blog owners will also use what is called a captcha system to cut down on spam in the comment section. In which case all comments are again viewed and approved by the blog owner.

4, All comments are automatically and instantly approved. They will also appear immediately.

On this blog, I have opted to use option number 2 only to verify the visitor’s email and comment as valid. So, therefore, in my absence, such as a motorcycle event, the comments made by a first time user would be in a que or holding area until approved. The comments of previous visitors would be automatically approved regardless of what the content is. Being away, I would have no control over what these people could or would comment. It is on a trust basis!

I have deleted only one of your comments on this blog, you were aware and informed of the valid reasons why it was deleted. You asked that the comment be edited and re-posted. I did this for you. So where do you get off with your recent comments as though I do not post your or other visitor’s comments?

I can tell you that I did give warning on a certain post about an ongoing argument carried over from another blog and said I did not want to close the comments on that post. I left the comment section open only to have my trust taken for granite by you and others while I was away. I am sick at the comments made that showed up with no respect for anyone. I have since closed the comments on that post and now I have to spend TIME, cleaning or deleting the nonsense that went on while I was away.

I am only home for a few hours and don’t have time for this. To be honest, I think I should leave the comments to show the childish behavior of some people. On the other hand, the comments spewed and brought out so much hate, that the innocent would suffer. Problem is, they most likely have already. The ones who typed the words will have deal with how they must feel knowing this.

Contrary to what you may have heard, blog owners are not responsible for what visitors have posted in the comment section of their blog. Although I feel the responsibility as a caring soul to clean up the mess. I am just wrestling with myself on how I want to do it right now. I am afraid all of you will have to live with your comments until I have finished my business.

      To All:
This answer in itself took a great deal of time. Please do not take that time in vain by making unrealistic, hateful and vulgar comments. If you choose to do so all comments good or bad will be taken to the spam bucket of this blog without me or any other person ever reading it from that day forward. This, of course, would include those who have previously posted.

You DO have the right to speak on this blog. You DO NOT have the right to make personal attacks on other readers of this blog. This would include what you might do to the ground in which someone has been buried.

I know that these are old cliches, but they make sense.

If you don’t have anything good to say about someone, don’t say anything.
Two wrongs never have made a right.

    20. ShugaShack Says:

      Sandy: get a grip.

Mike: Thank you for your honest, and open reporting – you tell it like it is. I look forward to your future responsible and newsworthy info on the “Billy Lane” story – as opposed to some of the outsider’s meddling, and otherwise “shit-disturbing” contributions to this blog.

Keep up the good work my dear.

      Rock on.

    21. Sandie Says:

WOW!!!! EVEN I can’t think of a comment!!!
